M.Sc.	Teaching, research staff, and teaching assistants employed at engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions approved by AICTE, either in Karnataka or elsewhere, must have completed a B.E / B.Tech degree. Applicants must have at least one year of teaching experience in Engineering Colleges or Research Organizations and must be funded by the respective Institutions or the Department of Technical Education (DTE) in the case of aided institutions. Individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology and are employed by the State Government, Central Government, Quasi Government Organizations, Public Sector Industries, or well-regarded Private Industries. Applicants must undergo an examination and possess at least one year of professional experience, which is supported by the relevant organizations. Applicants who have obtained a B.E. / B.Tech. degree and have at least one year of work experience are eligible to apply for the research fellowship awarded by nationally recognized bodies such as CSIR.
M.E./M.Tech	Applicants are required to have successfully completed the qualifying examination or an equivalent examination as determined by the Competent Authority. They must have achieved a minimum aggregate score of 50% (or 45% for SC, ST, and Category-I candidates) across all subjects in all years/semesters of their degree program from a recognized institute/university.
