What is JEE MAINS ARCH?

The JEE Main Architecture (Paper‑2), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate programs in architecture (B.Arch) and planning (B.Planning) at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and many private institutions across India. The exam is open to candidates who have completed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria. Paper‑2 evaluates candidates on Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing/Design skills, testing their numerical ability, spatial reasoning, and creative design aptitude. The exam is usually computer-based, with a duration of 3 hours, and serves as a gateway for aspiring architects and planners to secure admission in reputed institutes, including state and central universities, private universities, and deemed-to-be universities that offer professional architecture courses.

JEE MAINS ARCH Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
    • Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
    • Candidates who are appearing in their Class 12 final exams are also eligible to apply.

  2. Age Limit:
    • General category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1998 (subject to NTA updates).
    • Age relaxation is provided as per Government of India norms for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

  3. Qualifying Marks:
    • Candidates must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for General category).
    • Relaxed minimum percentage for SC/ST/PwD candidates (usually 45%).

  4. Nationality:
    • Open to Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs.

  5. Attempts:
    • Candidates can appear for 3 consecutive JEE Main sessions in which Paper-2 is conducted.

Registration Process JEE MAINS ARCH

  1. Visit Official Website:
    • Go to the NTA JEE Main portal: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in
  1. Registration / New User Sign Up:
    • Click on “Apply for JEE Main” for the relevant session.
    • Create a new account by providing basic details: Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
    • A system-generated application number will be provided after registration.
  1. Fill Application Form:
    • Enter personal details, academic qualifications, and choice of exam center.
    • Select Paper‑2 (B.Arch / B.Planning) for architecture programs.
  1. Upload Documents:
    • Upload photograph, signature, and other documents in the prescribed format and size.
  1. Pay Application Fee:
    • Application fee is payable online via credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
    • Keep the fee payment receipt for future reference.
  1. Submit Application:
    • Verify all details and submit the application form.
    • After submission, download and print the confirmation page for future use.
  1. Admit Card & Exam:
    • Admit cards are released 2–3 weeks before the exam on the NTA portal.
